Having never created a "successful" self portrait, I again, as I did with the painting Deprivation, chose to paint over an older painting with only a mirror and a piece of charcoal to capture my face and thoughts on the canvas. 
The piece further progressed my battle with the fear of making the first mark. Furthermore, I began to combine the use of charcoal and the paints, both oil and acrylic, in a style that bonded the mediums together. 

Here I captured my own likeness as I see it, not just in its physical form but also capturing my mental state at the time of this paintings conception.
